"There is no past or future, time stands still." Michaël Dudok de Wit (Director)

SUMMARY

Studio Ghibli and Oscar-winning Dutch animator Michael Dudok de Wit join forces for this simple, dialogue-free yet hypnotic fable that was a favourite at Cannes and deservedly rewarded with the special-mention prize in the Un Certain Regard category. The Red Turtle is a gem of an animation that tells the Robinson Crusoe-like story of a man stranded on a deserted island inhabited by turtles, crabs and birds. Michael Dudok de Wit injects philosophical questions into a warm, lighthearted story that has the simple, wholehearted character of the greatest Ghibli films.
