"The truth is always something that is told, not something that is known. If there were no speaking or writing, there would be no truth about anything. There would only be what is. " Susan Sontag

How do we stay alive?
How do we keep living with everything that has happened?
How do we lead a life, that makes us content, makes us happy?
Life is what we hold on to even after everything we have is gone. We can let go of possessions and our homes, just to stay alive. We learn to find ways of coping with the pain of lost ones, in order to keep living. We breathe hope in and out while trying to hold on to life, or at least trying to not let go of hope until the last breath. We resist against all odds to live our lives with decency. Each and every one of our stories is just a small tale on life, they get lost and forgotten. Or they get told and make pieces of the truth.
In Born in Adana we listen to 93-year-old Antrarig Teghararian, as he tells the true story of his father trying to survive in 1915, travelling from his hometown Diyarbakır to Aleppo and then to Adana. Dying Breath takes us to the people waiting for their sons, fathers, husbands, at the gate of the mine, just after the Soma mine disaster; a moment when people don’t know if they will see their loved ones alive again or if they will be given dead bodies. In Bossless, the workers of Kazova factory stand their ground for a fair life.
The stories and truths about how we lead life in this land and the time that we’re born into are not easy stories.
Yet, they are the truth and sometimes hopeful.
