"Hard work is rewarded. Feed the boy!" (From the film)
A bizarre family story at its best!
In order to overcome the obstacles they experience while home-educating their eight year old son who they dream will become president of the USA, a German couple enlist the help of a physics student to whom they rent a room. The nameless student arrives at their underground bunker with the intention of immersing himself into his studies but soon witnesses extremely bizarre and frightening events. However, he does not try to escape. On the contrary, he wants to help poor little Klaus, who is exposed to extreme methods of discipline and subjected to acute pressure. However, things get worse. Fluctuating on a fine line between comedy and thriller,The Bunker tells the story of the weirdest family ever. While standing out as a beautiful satire on education, this feature debut byNikias Chryssos also offers a story, which could be interpreted in many different ways. But frankly, that is not really necessary, as watching this absurd yet thrilling black comedy is an incredible and unmissable experience.
